14. Naomi Campbell Testifies in ‘Blood Diamonds’ Case
In a dramatic unfolding of events, the supermodel testified in August about receiving blood diamonds from former Liberian dictator, Charles Taylor.
According to Newser.com, Campbell said at the time that she “had never heard of Charles Taylor before, never heard of the country Liberia before, had never heard the term ‘blood diamonds,'” adding that “they were kind of dirty-looking pebbles [she’d received from Taylor]. When I’m used to seeing diamonds I’m used to seeing them shiny in a box.”
