If you ever feel unsafe, do not hesitate to take out a restraining order. Be sure to keep all emails, voice messages and texts as proof when you go in to file one. Many women fear doing this believing it will only piss of the stalker more, or they think they’re just overreacting. But even the craziest of stalker doesn’t want a criminal strike on his record that will probably make him lose his job. All he ever wanted was to be loved, not arrested. And as far as feeling that you’re overreacting goes: it’s better to overreact than to suddenly be in a possibly deadly situation.
