Spring is in the air (or, it’s coming anyway) and that means it is time for new love. Well, okay…not that kind of love. This time we’re talking about BROMANCES! For those of you who don’t know bromance is defined as a close, non-sexual relationship between two (or more) men. I know some of you might be thinking “Yeah, can’t happen…not cute” but it really can be fun to watch. Here are a few of our fave celeb bromances…
Tank & Jamie Foxx
Not only have these two been close friends for many years but they’re also partners…in music, that is! (Okay, no more Bromance jokes…maybe.) They’ve written and sung background vocals on each others’ albums (they sound a lot alike but Tank sounds much better to me). If that’s not love, I don’t know what is!
Russell Simmons & Kevin Liles
Who knew that two of the biggest execs in hip-hop (and music as a whole) had such a close relationship? There’s a lot of competition in the music game so it’s nice to see that every now and then when the paperwork is put down, they can still be super cool.
Diddy and Ricky Rozay
Hmmmm. Here’s what I think about Diddy and Rozay’s bromance: We don’t believe you, you need more people! They’ve been rocking with each other hard for a couple of years – both very support of the others’ music – but there’s something I just don’t buy. Oh, I know what it is: Diddy’s sneaky ways. Diddy is a smart guy and he knows music which means he knows who to latch on to at the right moment. That’s just MY opinion but nonetheless, it seems very loving right now!
Lamar Odom & Rob Kardashian
THIS is a real bromance. As we know, Lamar is married to Rob’s sister, Khloe, and the two seemed to connect from almost the very start. But much like any other relationship, they have had their ups and downs. When Rob was on Dancing with the Stars, he moved out of Khloe and Lamar’s house so that he could focus on the show – but he didn’t tell Lamar! WELL…that caused quite the problem because LamLam (Khloe’s nickname for him) was hurt and in turn, wouldn’t go visit Rob’s new place. Rob decided that he was going to ignore LamLam and of course, it turned into a big argument. Finally, they hashed it out and were back to being lovebugs. Awww, how precious!
Jay-Z & Kanye West
Yeah, it’s a bromance but in the truest form of the term. Ye has always looked up to Jay as a big brother (as evidenced by so many of his songs) and even when they’re on each other’s nerves, I suspect it doesn’t last really long. I mean, only someone who loves you could jump and get that excited when your wife announces she’s pregnant.
Pauly D & Vinnie
YES, I watch Jersey Shore…and?? Judge if you must, I don’t care! If it weren’t for that show, the two may not have ever met. Now they have their “suspect” moments, especially when they simulate “intimate” positions and call each other “my boyfriend” but I do think it is all in good fun and to make people talk more.
Lil’ Wayne & Baby
I mean…I don’t know. I’m sure most of you will say I’m being really lenient by calling this a bromance…you might be right. Wayne considers Baby his “daddy” because they met when Wayne was so young and he’s had a very big influence on Wayne’s life. But they also give each other kisses (look up the video of Wayne and Baby explaining the kiss on 106th & Park a few years ago…YO) and it doesn’t come across as very familial to me. I mean…I don’t know. I’m done with this one.
50 Cent & Floyd Mayweather
These two make me laugh so much. Do any of you who are on Twitter follow them? I don’t but they’re usually retweeted in my timeline and their friendship is just one that is hilarious to me. For some reason, it just…works. They’re always talking about when they’re hanging out at each others’ houses, they go on double dates with their women of the moment (Floyd’s been with his main lady – yes, that’s some shade so read between it – for quite some time and 50 usually keeps a lady friend) and they twitpic gifts they buy each other. I mean, what more is there to say?!
George Clooney & Brad Pitt
Now you know this list couldn’t end without what is currently the most famous bromance in all of celebrity world! These two love to catch up with each other on the red carpet and getting to part when they can. And to think, we may not have ever seen this bond form had it not been for Ocean’s 11.George was recently asked about his friendship with Brad and he said they really only see each other a couple times a year and he’s “…very proud to call him my friend.”
