You may refer to your best friend as your BFF but in Hollywood, best friends are also known as personal assistants. Well, all jokes aside, there is a trend in Hollywood of hiring best friends as assistants in order to keep family and “real” friends close. So besides all the celebrity BFFs, there are lesser known besties that fly under the radar. They’re the ones who’ve been there for their famous friends through thick and thin. Check out just a few of the lesser known BFFs that we managed to dig up.
You can always catch Angie Beyince supporting her cousin Beyonce. Angie used to work as Bey’s personal assistant and also co-wrote some of her songs. Although we’re not sure what Angie’s role today is in the Knowles-Carter empire, we do know that she’s integral.
Rihanna refers to her best friend and assistant Melissa not as her friend but as her sister. Ahhhh. Melissa is a fixture in Rihanna’s public and private life and can often be seen escorting her around the world.
If you’ve listened to enough of Jigga’s songs, you would know that he takes friendship very seriously. The fallout from former BFFs like Damon Dash and Beenie Siegel still haunt the most famous rapper in the world but lifelong friends like Ty-Ty, who once worked as his road manager, still got his back.
So we’re not sure if Jasmine is Mariah’s BFF but Jasmine definitely considers Mariah one of hers. The two met when Jasmine interviewed her Carey for MTV.
Alicia Keys’ bestie Erika Rose seems a lot like Beyonce’s bestie.Supposedly, Rose has worked as Keys’s personal assistant, manager ,and co-writer.
Lil B is Brandy and Ray J’s godsister, who happens to be Megan Good’s BFF. She got some shine when she helped Ray J on his reality show “For The Love of Ray J.”
You may remember Shay from Brandy and Ray-J’s VH1 reality show “R&B”. Shay joined the family business as a manager. With over ten years of being besties with Brandy, she fit right in.
Malika Haqq is a regular on her best friend’s show “Khloe and Lamar.” The girls have known each other since they were 15 and up until last year, Haqq worked as Khloe’s assistant. But Haqq couldn’t take being an assistant any longer, breaking the news to her bestie on air that she needed time to nurture her acting career. We hope that the extra time is helping her out cuz we haven’t seen her doing much yet..
