This is how mixing money and love becomes awkward. Say you want to go in together on, say, a 50K investment, but he only has 20k and you have 30k. Presumably, your share of the profits should correspond to what you put down. Translation: when that interest check for $275 a month comes in, it would seem that you should get a bit more of it than your partner. But it gets awkward, splitting hairs like that. Imagine when those figures and earnings get bigger. You really don’t want to politely split, say, $1,000 a month in interest with someone who put down less than you.
