For those of us familiar with the original film First Wives Club, which was released in 1996, this is a clear homage to their final scene when the women, Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler, and Diane Keaton, dressed in white suits sing Midler’s song, “You Don’t Own Me” as they skip off into their new lives.
