31 days sensuality

@theeempress (Sliding in DM’s): Dash, I want you to tie me up. I feel the need to release my inhibitions.

@eroticropesbydash3 (DM Reply) : Say no more…

The week before Dash (@eroticropesbydash3) tied me up, I was feeling hungry. I hungered for something that couldn’t be satiated with food and I wanted to explore something new to break my cycle of always wanting to be in control. As a true extremist, I jumped straight into the world of consensual BDSM to indulge in kink, discipline, dominance, submission, sadism and masochism.

I asked my friend Dash, aka Sir Dashington, to be my guide.  He is a professional Dominatrix and Shibari Rope artist. Shibari, also known as kinbaku, is the Japanese meaning of ‘to decoratively tie’.  Drawing from traditional Japanese tying methods, Shibari artists use rope to create beautiful, geometric patterns that bind and accentuate curves of the body. Coupled with Bondage practices (BDSM), Shibari bondage is one of the top kinks that people explore. Dash uses Shibari to create provocative, black art while helping women and couples unleash and explore their most erotic selves.

Without involving intercourse, I wanted to explore Shibari from an artistic perspective, but most specifically the BDSM side of things. I’m mostly intrigued with the idea of having my prominent scenes restricted, leading me to a new, painful and yet, pleasurable experience. In order to do this, I had no other option but to relinquish control: my eyes were covered and my feet, hands and torso were tied up.

Aight, so, BOOM: Dash pulled up to my house with a suitcase full of equipment. He flicked open a tool box full of black lights, electrodes, feathers, whips, chains, gold plated claws and course ropes. Then, the work began.  First, we had a conversation about safety, boundaries and the pleasure I sought, which physically and mentally prepared me for play. Dash positioned me on my living room table and slowly, but firmly tied my arms, legs and braids together with the soft and prickly rope allowing my breasts to float in the air.  Yogis call this the Bow Pose.  I became acutely aware of the intense sensations happening at the same time: the cinching rope, warm thick hands on my shoulders, leather whips, cold paint and metal claws strumming my body, the smell of incense in the air, licorice in my mouth, my deep meditative breathing and Dash’s deep voice guiding me through the process.

I felt like I was going to f*cking explode. The best part about being suspended by ropes was being forced to experience all of it. In that moment, my mind got quiet, the rest of the world dropped away and I was completely focused on what I was feeling. I let go, and I let Dash lead. For an hour, I shrieked in pleasure, pain and let the sensations dance across my body. It made me feel like intimacy was accessible to me without having penetration or an orgasm. When we were done, he untied the ropes, gave me a bear hug, and I exhaled. #Yum.

Anytime I experienced discomfort, Dash was able to pick-up on it and adjust. We were in sync. We caught a rhythm. During our session, I explored different means of communication and ways to engage trust, surrender and vulnerability.

The beauty in Shibari lies in juxtaposition: bare skin against rough rope, strength against exposure, and a sense of calm against the edge of risk. It’s experiencing another level of consciousness.

Dash approaches his art with passion, delicate care and profound dominance. The deep level of intimacy, absent of penetration, that Dash and I created together inspires me to this day. My experience was electrifying and I became acutely aware of my wild imagination, heightened senses and the amplified attention to my body through each lick of rope and tightened boundary. The communication, consent and slow moving process of Shibari, is a great metaphor for the way we should all approach other sensual/sexual acts.

Love,

Empress
