In a digital era of innumerable content offerings, every once in awhile, a special piece of content shines through. Refinery29’s Unbothered platform scored a win when one episode of their IGTV series, “Dear, Black Love” caught the attention of some Hollywood honchos.

The platform released an episode of the series on Monday, featuring lovebirds Keish and Crystal. Their episode was shared with this touching quote, “Loving a Black woman feels like a privilege.”

Crystal says during the conversation, “Black women are everything. And my favorite black woman is everything, so it’s just important to me.”

Keish reflects her partner’s sentiment, saying, “I’ve never had anyone love me – or never known that I deserve love like this.”

Their love caught the attention of director Ava DuVernay, who said if no one else is willing to pen their epic fairytale for screen, she will.

“If no one is gonna write this for the screen, then I will,” she wrote as she shared the video with her followers.

“Although I’m booked til 2021. So that probably won’t work. Can someone step up? Cause they are just too lovely and I wanna see them in an 8-part series with wardrobe + cinematography. I’m a sucker for a good love story.”

Lena Waithe also chimed in on the convo, saying she was “Obsessed with both of these queens,” and said she was down with working on the project as a docu-series as well.

The internets were just as elated with this segment as Lena and Ava.
