SERENA WILLIAMS
Catsuit controversy.
A good one piece can give you an elegant and functional outfit all in one zip. I’m so here for jumpsuits and catsuits off the court, that when Williams’ brought it on the field courtesy of Off White, I was delighted. Nevertheless, the French Open viewed it as a fashion faux pas, however, it was a grand slam in my book. The Women’s Tennis Association also viewed it favorably, voting that catsuits ARE allowed on their courts.

Tracee Ellis Ross brought headwraps to the red carpet with this stunning all-black look for the 2018 Golden Globe Awards. While headwraps have always been regal in the black community, wearing this look at a more mainstream event brought black fashion history to the forefront. No surprise from this year’s fashion front-runner.

BEYONCÉ
Oversized haute hats.
Oversized hats can make for a dramatic statement and truly be a conversation piece making one’s entire outfit. While hat’s used to be a necessity, in the 1960’s they started to become an accessory. 2018 truly seems to be the year where hats are making a comeback as the piece. Beyoncé showed us at the 60th Annual GRAMMY Awards that a good hat can make you look haute. She kept the trend throughout the year with these large hats being a major feature during her On The Run II tour. Cardi B. even gave us a moment in Paris, during Paris Fashion Week, wearing an oversized hat with her Christian Siriano gown.
