He Understands What He Did Wrong
This is a big one. It’s one thing to hear you tell him what he did wrong, but it’s something else entirely when he actually understands what he did. This is crucial because the first step to effectively apologizing is to understand what you’re apologizing for.
His understanding of his wrongdoing is him accepting that what he did hurt you and he is committed to taking the necessary steps to fix things and save your relationship.
