If there wasn’t a good reason to bring CeCe Gutierrez back to Basketball Wives for another season before, there’s definitely one now: she’s about to be an official basketball wife.

Gutierrez and boyfriend Byron Scott, former three-time NBA champion and coach, announced their engagement on social media over the weekend.

Via a post that’s since been deleted, Scott wrote, “4 1-2 years ago we met. 6 months later you were my girlfriend. 2 weeks ago you became my fiancé. And soon you will be my wife. I am the luckiest man on earth. I love you baby.”

Gutierrez also showed off the huge rock given to her by Scott via an Instastory:

If you watched the show, then you know that cast member Malaysia Pargo is a cousin of Byron, and Kristen Scott is Byron’s daughter-in-law. On the show, when we were first introduced to CeCe and Byron, she joked that “he was stalking me at the gym” when they met, and he told everyone, “I love everything about her.”

Byron was previously married for nearly 30 years to his ex-wife, Anita, and he filed for divorce in 2014. He claims they separated in 2013, but she said it didn’t happen until 2014. They have three adult children together, including Kristen’s husband, Thomas, as well as LonDen and DaRon. Even though they’ve been divorced for some time, they’ve been doing battle over spousal support for a while. According to The Blast, Anita actually planned on asking CeCe earlier this year to testify as a witness for her over spousal support issues, and to speak on Byron’s money. She was recently seeking $60,000 a month.

By the end of Season 7 of Basketball Wives, Kristen and Malaysia didn’t seem too fond of CeCe (who the public seemed to get behind after both women allowed her to be called a derogatory term by Evelyn Lozada) due to issues that were happening behind the scenes. Kristen even once said that CeCe’s place in the family hadn’t been solidified when they were at odds during the season. But since CeCe is about to be Mrs. Scott, hopefully fences can be mended. Even if they’re not though, people will have to get used to her because she’s going to be around for a while.
