After going through a divorce with ex-husband Freddy Harteis in 2017, The Real co-host Jeannie Mai decided to focus on putting a lot of work in to be her best self, for herself. She wanted to strengthen her body and move away from the belief that super thin is always in after staying 103 lbs for years.
“As I’m nearing my 40s, I realize that I’ve been thru so much sh-t mentally and emotionally, why the hell should my body be forced to suffer (from my over controlling ways) too?” she wrote on Instagram. “So 3 months ago I started a new eating plan and training program and gained 17 lbs. I don’t have a weight goal..just a promise to be as physically Strong as I am mentally Indestructable.”
She was only three months into her fitness journey around that time, but Jeannie has kept up her changed diet and fitness regimen, and the hard work is paying off in her stronger, curvier figure:
The 39-year-old has taken us into the gym with her and motivated plenty of people to not be afraid of strength training and eating healthy carbs and protein. She’s looking healthier and happier than ever.
