Kelis’s mom had a stroke and Nas wouldn’t bring their son to see her.
Before the Thanksgiving holiday, the singer’s mother suffered a stroke. Because she’s close with Knight, Kelis allegedly called Nas to have the rapper bring their son to see his grandmother.
“I called him and I was like, ‘Yo, my mom just had a stroke, can you bring him?'” she asked. “He was like, ‘No.’ I was like, Ok. Alright. I need to deal with my mom. This is a disaster.”
After her mom pulled through, Kelis ended up having a life-is-too-short perspective and wanted to ease tensions between herself and the rapper. So, she invited Nas, with her husband’s approval, over for Thanksgiving, because he had no family and she wanted him to spend the holiday with Knight. He came, and everything went well. Or so she thought.
