Floyd Mayweather is facing another hefty lawsuit filed by a woman from his past. According to CNN, the five-division world champion boxer is being sued by his ex-girlfriend and mother to two of his children, Josie Harris.

During a recent interview with Yahoo’s Katie Couric, the undefeated fighter alleged that Harris was high on drugs and that he was simply trying to restrain her during their September 2010 domestic dispute.

“Did I kick, stomp, and beat someone? No, that didn’t happen,” he told Couric. “Did I restrain a woman that was on drugs? Yes, I did. So if they say that’s domestic violence, then, you know what? I’m guilty. I’m guilty of restraining someone.”

As you may recall, the 38-year-old was arrested after cops said that he punched Harris in the face. He later pled guilty to misdemeanor battery and served two months behind bars. In the lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles Tuesday, Harris denied being a substance abuser.

“It was not Mayweather’s ‘restraint’ of Harris that caused her serious injuries, rather it was his beating of her,” explained Harris’ attorney in the filing.

Harris is demanding $20 million in damages for defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress. You may recognize her from TLC’s 2013 reality show “Starter Wives Confidential,” which she starred in alongside DMX’s estranged wife Tashera Simmons and Lamar Odom’s ex-girlfriend Liza Morales. The series was cancelled midseason due to low ratings.

Mayweather, who recently earned a whopping $100 million from last weekend’s boxing match against Manny Pacquiao, was also recently sued by ex-girlfriend Shantel Jackson who made similar claims against him.

Fighting At Work, Abusing At Home: Is Anyone Else Troubled By Supporting Floyd Mayweather?

May 1st, 2015 - By Veronica Wells

My parents love boxing. My dad loves to tell people stories about how he took my mother to a fight, when they were still dating, and she was so full of adrenaline that when a woman stood up in front of her, blocking her view, she subconsciously pushed her back down into her seat.

And though years later, my mother began to find it too barbaric, my father is still a fan.

Earlier this week, he and I were talking and I asked him about his plans for the weekend. He said that he was planning on inviting our male family members and his friends over to watch the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight. But he was a little disappointed that the receiver connecting his sound systems to the television wasn’t working, so they wouldn’t be able to experience the fight in surround sound.

He was disappointed but he was still going to host, particularly since my grandfather, my dad’s father-in-law, was so excited about it.

But a few days later, my dad called us back to say that he was having additional reservations about paying $100 for the event.

“You know, I just don’t know if I can put money into Mayweather’s pocket knowing what he does to women.”

If you’re unfamiliar, Floyd Mayweather has a well-documented history of abuse against women, both physical and emotional.

In 2010, he pled guilty to assaulting his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child Josie Harris. He spent two months in jail for the crime. He posted images of ex girlfriend Shantel Jackson’s abortion and defended the decision saying that Shantel asked him to make her famous.

His own son, Koraun, called him a coward for not only the way he treated his mother, but refusing to admit it. Some of his children have witnessed the abuse and have been threatened by their father. He’s pulled a gun on the woman with whom he was in an intimate relationship.

And if that weren’t enough, there’s also the slut-shaming. Mayweather was quoted as saying, “If a female shows half of her body, she’s asking to be disrespected.”

It’s a lot y’all.

In fact, Deadspin reported that there are at least seven documented instances of assault with five different women attached to Mayweather’s name.

He has a problem. And after my father did some research and learned some of this information, he just couldn’t support him.

I spoke to him today about his decision and he said, “It’s too concentrated an effort to abuse women. It’s so hypocritical that we made such a big deal about Ray Rice. Ray Rice is a choirboy compared to Mayweather.”

And while my father came to the conclusion, it wasn’t an easy one.

“I appreciate boxing and I appreciate his style. He’s a bad boy! But every penny you pay, he gets a percentage.”

My dad admits that he wants to see the fight and he’s certainly receiving quite a bit of pressure to watch it. My 96-year-old grandfather called my father again today asking him if he was sure he didn’t want to watch the fight. When my dad said no, he wasn’t paying for it, my grandfather, who is a devout, old-school, non-imbibing Christian, suggested that they go and watch it at a local bar.

My dad says my grandfather is looking to him for permission.

Fear of missing out (FOMO) is real.

And I understand it. I don’t think it’s an understatement to say that this is the event of the Spring.

But sometimes, it’s just not worth it to be in the know.

This was not to shame anyone about their decision to watch Mayweather get paid to do what he does outside of the ring as well; but I do wonder, did anyone else have these same reservations?

Floyd Mayweather’s babies’ mama Josie Harris is clearly not a happy camper. Just last week, we told you that Josie attacked Floyd’s other ex, Melissia Brim, on social media. Now, she’s directing her frustrations at another ex of Floyd, Shantel Jackson, who recently announced that she is suing the champion boxer.

“well now well now ain’t this some sh*t, the pot calling the kettle black; when i got my a** beat according to her i was a liar,” Josie tweeted.

“can i sue for emotional distress too? im just sayin….”

“b*tch just stop. you will be back working at Rio Hotel as a maid again as soon as u stop sucking floyd’s d*ck for shoes and hand bags.”

“the same hotel he punched you in the face at when you got off work. or was that your daddy he punched in the face? oh wait it was both.”

She also took another jab at Melissia.

“obviously my puxxy was a bit better then yours cause your out numbered over there sweetheart on 1 to 3 ratio.”

“Aye miss j don’t take any advice on how to sue Floyd from Melissia she filled one before and did n o t win sh*t!”

Of course, many of us have been wondering why Josie is still so heavily involved in Floyd’s personal affairs considering that she announced that she got married last spring. Unfortunately, it appears that things did not work out.

Something tells us that this is only the beginning of what’s to come.

It appears that no matter where Floyd Mayweather goes, drama is sure to follow. Now that he’s no longer beefing with his ex-fiancée, Shantel Jackson, his children’s mothers, Josie Harris and Melissia Brim are at each other’s throats. Last week, the two engaged in an Instagram war after Josie accused Melissia of wearing clothes that “Dade County” aka Shantel left at Floyd’s place when she moved out.

“You went from 0 to 100 to wearing Dade County’s leftovers real quick,” Josie wrote on Instagram. “Are you enjoying Miss J’s old house, shoes and bags? But where your son and your son daddy at though? I’m just saying…#aintshitinyourname oh wait #exceptforthat1985sidepiece sewed into the side of your anteater face #takeyourbigassturkeyturkeydrumsticklegsbacktodisneyland #nellycomegetyouroldchick.”

“STL was all thru the flights zero to 100. Nah baby you went zero to 200 lbs real quick!!! Ahahahaha still look pretty,” Melissia replied.

She also followed up with a photograph of herself and Floyd, where Josie can be seen in the background, which was snapped during a boxing event at The Palms in Las Vegas last weekend.

“That face you make when someone irrelevant tries to use you to get their followers up lmao,” she captioned the image. “Few things about MelissiaRene…. I know who I am, I don’t give a damn what others think about me, I play the FRONT never the BACK, I’m a Boss, I worry about self because self-preservation is the law of the land & last, but not least, I’m a woman before anything & if I have somethin to say I’m not hiding behind NO ONE or ANYTHING…. #HAPPYSUNDAY.”

According to reports, the social media squabble came on the heels of a public screaming match that the ladies engaged in at Saturday night’s event.

Josie Harris Is Livid Over Her Baby Girl’s Mayweather Fight Dress

So at this weekend’s Mayweather vs. Canelo fight, Floyd’s adorable 10-year-old daughter, Jirah, whom he shares with former girlfriend and Starter Wives Confidential star Josie Harris, showed up rocking a fitted hot pink gown with a gold belt designed by Project Runway’s Michael Costello. Ironically, Floyd’s on-again, off-again boo Shantel Jackson attended the fight wearing an extremely similar dress, also designed by Michael Castello. You can probably guess that Josie wasn’t too thrilled about this; she’s been quite vocal about her disdain for Shantel in the past.

Josie told TMZ that she paid Michael $795 to design a one-of-a-kind dress for Jirah and he ruined everything by giving Floyd’s “gold-digging” boo a similar design.

“It’s an unspoken rule and a cardinal sin for a ‘real designer’ to dress clients alike going to the same major event … Tacky, tacky, tacky,” Josie said.

She also had a few words to say about Josie’s loyalty to Floyd.

“She is a total gold digger … She conveniently came back around 2 days before Floyd got his $41.5 million check.”

Despite Josie’s grievances, Michael says he has no intentions of giving Josie a refund for Jirah’s dress.

“No exclusivity was promised regarding the dress. If you want exclusivity, you need to pay more,” Michael expressed.

He also said that his employees informed Shantel that Jirah would be wearing the same dress and she didn’t care. Messy, messy, messy.

What do you think of Josie’s decision to go public with her complaints?

Y’all Messy! On Floyd Mayweather And His Baby Mama Drama: Who’s To Blame?

May 22nd, 2013 - By Lauren R.D. Fox

From The Grio

Earlier this month, boxer Floyd Mayweather was in the news for his (expected) triumph over boxing opponent Robert Guerrero. And last week, Mayweather, no stranger to attention seeking, made headlines again, but in a way he probably never expected.

On Mother’s Day, he paid a visit to his ex Josie Harris, who is mother to three of his four children. Harris has also appeared on the  reality show Starter Wives Confidential exposing her ongoing “relationship” with Mayweather, and on May 1 Harris gave an interview to Yahoo sports explaining that they’ve had “one intimate encounter” since he served time for assaulting her in front of their children.

This is also despite Mayweather’s engagement to another woman, Shantel Jackson, who lives with Mayweather. Anyway, Mayweather and Harris — recently it seems –  wound up in a bed together. As he slept, Harris snapped a picture of him that was posted to Instagram on Mother’s Day.

This, however, is not when things stop being crazy. Mayweather’s fiancee, who of course heard about the pictures, if not saw them, has not made a public statement about her fiancé being pictured in the bed with his ex. But she did offer a response, of sorts.

After Harris’s picture with Floyd surfaced, Jackson posted a mini-photo essay on Intsagram, documenting her life with Floyd. The images included a walk-in closet the size of a garage, a series of expensive designer bags displayed (and protected) like precious artifacts in a museum, and a vintage luxury vehicle. Media Takeout interpreted her images as a way of saying to Harris, “you may have his [p*nis], but I have his pockets.”

‘I Didn’t Like It, So It’s Off:’ 50 Cent Brags About Pulling The Plug On ‘Starter Wives Confidential’

Yesterday, we told you that  TLC mysteriously decided to snatch reality show, Starter Wives Confidential off of the air, after releasing only three episodes. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to conclude that one of the famous exes of the women on the show probably had something to do with it, but the ex that came forward was a bit surprising. In case you haven’t been keeping up with Starter Wives Confidential, the mother of 50 Cent’s son, Shaniqua Tompkins was cut from the show during the first episode, after being caught up in some legal red tape. The way it was portrayed on the show, she signed a book deal with 50 a few years back, which prohibited her from divulging any information about him or their relationship on the show. This is why when it came to possible exes who could’ve had something to do with pulling the plug on the show, 50 was the last person to come to people’s minds. But, he shocked us all when he took to his Twitter page to taunt the ladies from the show and take credit for having a hand in its cancelation.

Cast member and ex of Floyd Mayweather, Josie Harris, clearly flustered with 50 chose to fight back, claiming that the actual cause of the cancelation was that the show’s ratings were too low.

It Was Fun While It Lasted: TLC Gives Reality Show, ‘Starter Wives Confidential’ The Axe

If you were a fan of TLC’s latest reality show, Starter Wives Confidential, you’ll be saddened to know that the network has decided to pull the plug on the rest of the season. While the exact reason why the show has been canceled hasn’t been revealed, it’s quite obvious that the exes of some of the ladies who appear on the show weren’t exactly thrilled about their dirty laundry being aired out once a week on national television. Not to fret though, the remaining episodes will be available on TLC’s website. The announcement was made by Funkmaster Flex’s ex-wife, Monica Joseph-Taylor via her blog, Mommy’s Dirty Little Secret. Check out her full statement below.

If you want to watch the remainder of episodes of Starter Wives Confidential you will have to go online to

Ask me why? ::Long pause::

Is it ratings? Is it a change in network direction…or all the outside drama?!

It’s no secret Starter Wives Confidential was plagued by legal inquiries and possible lawsuits from the beginning. Starting with Shanequa Tompkins being missing from all the episodes, her ex 50 cent allegedly had an agreement or contract with her of some sort that either prevented or made it difficult for her to partake in the show. I know before taping even began I was questioned about my posts relating to anyone connected with Lamar Odom. Luckily TLC had no control over what I do or can post so it became a non-issue. I never did find out who was putting pressure on them. Cut to the Lil Kim situation, one which I’m still confused about and can’t even confirm if there is a law suit.

Bringing a show with women of color to TLC we always knew was a challenge and I love that they believed in our stories and gave us a voice. A voice, honesty, love, a lot of drama, and a bit of ratchetness. (Usually required for any good reality show.)
I can only imagine there were a lot of people who were afraid what would come out on Starter Wives Confidential and as you saw from the first few episodes, the ladies were NOT holding back! Trust me it gets better and much juicier. But I digress. (I always wanted to say that in a post.)

I want to say that from the very bottom of my soul the support and love from viewers was more amazing then I imagined. Even the haters felt our show was genuine. I love that personally I got to not only bond with 5 amazing women but was allowed to show that not all celebrity wives sit home, model, or are simpletons. For the first time people got to know who I really am, if even just a little bit.

So it SUCKS that you have to watch episodes online but it beeeez like that sometimes. But make sure you still log onto everyday for the latest news, gossip, and info (c’mon y’all know me by now, why pretend anymore #endlesspromotion #bossb**ch #keepitmovin #letmefinish)

P.S. I realize I didn’t answer why we are not being aired anymore…you will just have to judge for yourself. ::Closes the shades carefully as she writes and presses send::
– Monica Taylor

While many will probably be relieved to hear the news that another ratchet reality show has been booted off of the air, I can’t help but feel a bit sad for a cast member  like Tashera Simmons, who avoided drama and was just utilizing the show as a means of supporting her children.

What do you think of the show being pulled off of the air?

One thing that's for sure about Floyd Mayweather's ex, Josie Harris, is she's no Liza Morales.
