Beyoncé’s Ivy Park Backless Cap Is The Thing Of Big Ponytail Dreams
For those of us who have wanted to put our big hair underneath a cap on a day it wouldn’t agree with us but couldn’t because our coiffures wouldn’t fit, you’ll be glad to know that Beyoncé’s Ivy Park athleisure brand is coming through in the clutch for our mane and tails.
The brands new backless cap is part of the new Fall 2017 collection. It’s velvet with a bent-brimmed cap that uses a logo-adorned elastic strap in place of the traditional back.
The design allows you to put hair of a wide variety of sizes in it, which if you’ve ever tried to wear a decently placed ponytail, you’ll know is quite difficult to wrangle in a cap.
It’s the perfect look for a trip to and from the gym, and Beyoncé herself proved this when she wore a version of the hat out to SoulCycle class with Jay-Z weeks after giving birth.
At the time that she wore it in July, we were so focused on the fact that the singer was back out in public again that we didn’t even notice the functional cap, which she tucked her low bun through.
The polyester cap will be available through Topshop soon and it costs $35. The color that will be available is chili red, but as you can see, there is also a tan version. As someone who can barely get a hat to fit on my locs (and my already large head) without eventually sliding up, I’m quite ready for this innovative accessory. What about you?
