OWN has really flipped the script on programming since they first launched back in 2011. And we would be lying if we said that we didn’t notice the programming started featuring casts of a darker hue. Oprah’s Black, we’re Black and we’re here for it.
Not only do the shows feature diverse casts, the quality of the programming, thanks to shows like “Queen Sugar,” and “Greenleaf,” is much improved. Following that upward trajectory, the network is airing a special on Black Love, called “Black Love.”
The trailer for the special begins with a quote from Viola Davis. “More people would be terrified when they walked down the aisle if they understood exactly what marriage is about.”

But most hilariously, Viola shared another story about revealing some disheartening information to her soon-to-be husband.
“I was so nervous until I had finally told him, ‘Julius I have bad credit.’ He said, ‘I knew your Black ass had bad credit from the moment I met you. But that’s alright I got good credit. We can use up my credit.”
