Naturi Naughton and longtime boyfriend Ben announced in March that they’re expecting their first child. When revealing the big news to PEOPLE, she said that while her pregnancy was a surprise, it’s brought her a great sense of joy when she thinks about the future.
“I feel like being pregnant and entering this new stage has made me stronger and more excited about life in general,” Naughton said. “Everything seems so much more purposeful.”
Naughton was already further along than people expected when she revealed the baby news, so just this past weekend she celebrated this major milestone with a baby shower alongside family and friends. The theme was “It takes a village to raise a child,” and there were plenty of zebras, giraffes, lions and other sights and sounds put together to help Naturi celebrate, courtesy of Primrose Couture Events in Brooklyn. There was also a lot of dancing, a lot of cake, and a lot of ’90s jams playing, including a moment where Naughton pulled out her best Lil Kim impression to rap “It’s All About the Benjamins” with friends.
