It wasn’t the weight loss as much it was the way Star Jones lost her weight that seemed to rub her fans the wrong way. Despite being very public with her weight loss ups and downs, she kept the gastric bypass surgery she had to herself for quite some time.
“It really ticked them off,” Jones said on Today about her fans. “Because I was so public with all other aspects of my life I think the audience felt betrayed in some way. And I completely understand that. The reason I say I don’t regret that…is it really worked for me. It allowed me to get emotionally safe and secure.”
