For the past couple of weeks Jackie Christie’s name has been in the news more for her real-life trials than any Basketball Wives drama. It recently came to light that the son of Jackie’s estranged daughter, Takari, was badly burned on his head, neck, and chest while being cared for at a local daycare and to pay for the 8 month old’s medical expenses Takari set up a Go Fund Me account.

Celebrities like Matt Barnes and Evelyn Lozada donated more than $3,000 each to the cause while Jackie claimed she was being extorted and blackmailed in a series of now-deleted tweets.

She went on to tell TMZ she believes Takari only set up a Go Fund Me account to embarrass her, and that if her daughter, whom she says cut her off years ago, had simply called and asked for the money she would have given it to her, as she has in the past.

That, of course, left many questioning why Takari would even have to ask now that Jackie knows the circumstances of her grandson’s injuries –not the least of which was her own daughter who shared this open letter to her mother on Instagram yesterday.

It’s not clear from the letter what Takari wants from her mother, other than to let her know she won’t be broken. Regardless of what kind of relationship these two have, I hope Jackie can at least put their differences aside for the sake of her grandchild’s health. The Go Fund Me notes Takari “cannot go to work and doesn’t have enough vacation time to cover the extended leave she will need to provide around the clock care for Jaxson.” Thankfully, so far $15,000 has been raised toward the fund’s initial $3,000 goal.
