Columbus Short may be short on roles since getting fired from Scandal in the midst of revealing a rather serious drug problem, but one thing there’s no shortage of in his life is women. In fact, the actor is preparing to walk down the aisle for the fourth time next year, and he and his new fiancée are also expecting a child.
So who’s the lady? Aida Abramyan. Apparently the two have been dating on and off for years, but are now ready to make things official as they prepare to welcome their first child together, a son, Short confirmed to Entertainment Tonight. The pair plans to walk down the aisle in January 2017 before the little one arrives. This will be the 33 year old’s third child.
If you feel like it was just yesterday that we were discussing Short and Karrine Steffans tumultuous marriage, you’re right. We found out the unlikely pair had jumped the broom in January of this year (though he claimed the union wasn’t legal) and by March, Steffans was calling him out as a cheater on social media.
Prior to that, Short had an extremely hostile split from ex-wife Tanee McCall with whom he shares a four-year-old daughter. McCall accused Short of being abusive and he was sentenced to three years probation and ordered to take a counseling course after pleading no contest to misdemeanor spousal battery in 2014. Prior to that, he was married to a woman named Brandi, who is the mother of his oldest son.
Short has also battled numerous criminal charges during the past couple of years, having spent six days in custody for violating the terms of his probation relating to a 2014 assault charge and serving another 24 hours in jail for failing a drug test at an in-patient drug rehab program at the Pasadena Recovery Center in California, WENN pointed out. Let’s hope Short gets it together the fourth time around.
