Not all sunscreen is created equal. Some are oily and greasy, others leave a white, chalky film on your body. This can deter people from using sunscreen, along with the misconception that melanin-rich skin doesn’t need sunblock. Well, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Brown skin is still susceptible to both sunburn and skin cancer, yet, according to a 2010 study by the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, 63 percent of African Americans never use sunscreen.

If you favor one in particular, a brand not included here, share it with us and your fellow Noirettes in the comment section.
