Aretha Franklin has been in the music industry for more than half a century and she’s recognized as a legend wherever she goes. Last year Franklin released her 38th album, which covered hit songs made famous by other singers. But when the Queen of Soul announced that she was remaking Beyonce’s “Bootylicious,” the Beyhive immediate voiced their concerns on social media. It worked because “Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics” was void of any songs originally made famous by Beyonce.
