“The Game” Season Finale Recap
What’s Up Doc?
Derwin’s six pack was distracting as he talked to Melanie about their failure to get pregnant despite how much they have been having sex. Although she’s over obsessing, they decide to go to the doctor to make sure they are both medically capable of having children.
Mommy Knows Best
On the last episode Tasha decided to represent her son again even though he fired her years ago. The problem is now she has to juggle managing both Derwin and Malik. But Tasha is confident that her superb managing skills will have Malik back on the team as the star quarterback in no time. Afraid to be honest with Tasha, Derwin tells Melanie she has to tell Tasha he doesn’t want her representing Malik. His rationale is that if Tasha has to choose between an endorsement for her son or Derwin she will always choose her son. This is going to get ugly. Meanwhile Tasha is in manager mode with Malik recording a homemade video to release to press that shows him convincing San Diego residents that the Sabers will only get the championship ring with him on the team. As Tasha turns to leave she runs into Mr. “I’m dying of cancer,” a.k.a Beau. Just like I predicted last week- dude is shady. He is out with his wife and kids when he ran into Tasha unexpectedly. But she doesn’t trip. Instead she gives him props for teaching her not to sweat the small stuff. She leaves him dumbfounded after calling his kids ashy. Got to love Tasha. Malik is determined to get Jenna back, and shows up to her photo shoot. Only the photo shoot is staged by Malik. She is humiliated and walks out on him.
Jason to the Rescue
Derwin asks Jason to dinner to beg him to help convince another quarterback to join the Sabers team. Jason is unmoved and says he doesn’t give a damn about the Sabers anymore. When said football player shows up for dinner he shmoozes Jason with compliments, Jason ends up persuading him to join the Sabers.
Twizzler Tizzy
Melanie invites Tasha over for her favorite “delectables” to chat with her about managing both Derwin and Malik. Tasha knows something is up and asks Melanie what’s going on. Instead of being straightforward with her she tells Tasha she should focus on Derwin instead of Malik. But Tasha being the street savvy businesswoman she is knows Derwin sent her to do his dirty work. Things quickly heat up as the two have a huge blow out argument. Tasha yells that Med School isn’t loyal and Mel calls Tasha’s son a “druggie” shouting that his career is over. Melanie fires her and Tasha throws twizzlers at her before she walks out. First Tasha had a blowout with her girl Kelly in the third season and now Mel? Will any of them be friends when all this is over?
Lady Troubles
Derwin’s quarterback choice is signed to the Sabers. At the press conference the new QB throws Malik under the bus and confidently says he will get the team a championship. Jason spots Camille (Stacy Dash) at the press conference and asks her to dinner; she agrees. But she walks over to her new man, the new quarterback, kisses him and walks over to Jason while holding her man’s hand and says they will meet him at dinner. At Malik’s residence he watches the press conference with his mom when Jenna comes over to Malik’s house drunk. She relapsed because of his shenanigans with the photo shoot. Malik causes pain to everyone in his path. Karma is going to be a beast for him.
Maybe Baby
Melanie and Derwin visit the doctor to find out why they aren’t pregnant. After Med School answers a series of questions the doctor leaves to run tests, but thinks them not getting pregnant is only due to stress. However, Derwin’s intuition kicks in with the way Melanie answered one of the questions. Apparently any time she says “definitely” something fishy is up, which Tasha pointed out during their argument. The finale ends with Derwin asking, “The abortion Melanie, was it mine?”
Yes, they ended the season like that. Looks like next season will be just as much drama as this one. I have a bad feeling the show will imply the reason they can’t have kids is because of Melanie’s abortion. And who was the baby by? Maybe Tre Wiggins or the doctor. There are so many possibilities. Guess we have to tune in next season to watch the drama unfold.
