Unfortunately, Don Imus wasn’t the only person to use the term “nappy headed ho*s.” Back in 2009 artist, Asher Roth found himself in some serious trouble after sending out a Tweet saying, “At Rutgers stirring up a ruckus. Been a day of rest and relaxation, sorry Twitter — hanging out with some nappy headed hoes.” Really?
The rapper would go on to apologize after deleting the Tweet:
“The twitter situation was an immature attempt to poke fun at an infamously moronic joke,” he wrote. “In doing so, I unconsciously stooped to the level of its originator, making it just as bad, if not worse. Pathetic. Lesson learned – nothing good can come from repeating hateful words, regardless of your intentions.”
