At an early age, Jada Pinkett-Smith showed a passion for the arts and as a result she was enrolled in piano, tap and ballet lessons. At the Baltimore School for the Arts, she met and became lifelong friends with future rapper turned actor Tupac Shakur. The diminutive light-eyed star had a breakout performance in Keenan Ivory Wayans’ 1994 A Low Down Dirty Shame following a stint on “A Different World” for two seasons. The Set It Off star is of African-American, West Indian, Creole, and Portuguese-Jewish ancestry.
