Jada Shaves Both Sides Of Her Hair

This is Jada’s most recent haircut, but it’s revamped from a look she’s tried quite a few times over the last few years. After looking fabulous with an asymmetrical bob, she decided she’d rather let her scalp breathe and decided to shave both sides down and let the hair on the crown of her head shine. She tends to keep the top in twists (and the back of her head still seems to be covered in hair too), and the look gives her a rocker chic edge. In the past, she curled her hair and either pinned it in ponytails or kept it sleek and straight. It’s screams everything but “mother of two,” but Jada’s never been conventional with her ‘dos.

I’m not going to front, Jada’s giving me life with the slick finger waves. And I’m pretty sure my sister used to rock this look back when she was leaving out the house in spray-painted denim. And do I see a rat-tail coming from the nape of her neck!?

Both looks you see here have a lot of character, but we’re glad she found fame and left these looks behind once she ended up on TV. All of this would have been way too distracting.

In these photos alone, we can tell that Jada dyed her hair and decided to let that be her hairstyle alone (she had the electro shock look going on in the first picture and a possible texturizer in the second–or her natural texture). Braids look funky enough on Jada, but she always manages to take them one step further. Whether she’s adding some funky designs and only braiding one side, or adding some blue extensions and putting an intricate top knot on her head, she’s all about the edgy. But are you feeling it?

For a red-carpet event, you’d think she might pull out the curling iron, but surprise! Jada goes for the braided double buns and a zig-zag part in her head. It’s simple and cute for someone like her, who is clearly all about being fearless when presenting herself to the world. It’s almost like a thick bowl on her forehead. I think these looks could be a winner with a little extra bump from that curling iron (and take the bang up a few inches), but Jada wanted to go with the chic choppy look that stopped just short of her eyes. Once again, it’s not a bad look, but the bangs are so big and tall that they seem to swallow her up whole.
