Photos of an unclad Williams posing with another young woman were published in Penthouse magazine prompting pageant officials to take back the crown. Williams lost $2 million in endorsement deals but at the time all she was worried about was what her parents would say. The “Ugly Betty” star re-launched a career in acting and singing has gone on to become one of the most successful Miss America winners.
