Daniel ‘Boobie’ Gibson Reportedly Turns Himself In To NOLA Police Following Assault and Battery Charges

Daniel released a statement to TMZ about the incident, which he revealed occurred during the Essence Music Festival.
“Earlier this month during the Essence Music Festival, I was involved in an incident with other individuals while I was out with my wife. It’s unfortunate that some see opportunity in taking advantage of people who work hard for what they have achieved. Once all the facts of the incident come out, I expect to be fully vindicated,” his statement read.
Former Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard and husband of R&B singer, Keyshia Cole, Daniel Gibson, has reportedly turned himself in to the New Orleans Police Department. According to CBS Sports, the 27-year-old Houston, Texas native has been charged with second degree assault and battery.
So far there has been no word on the actual incident that led to the charges and the arrest, but by definition, assault and battery is defined as a situation where the offender “intentionally inflicts serious bodily injury” on another person. Details are currently scarce, but just yesterday, the athlete posted a subliminal message to his Instagram and Twitter pages, implying that his faith in God has kept him calm in spite of certain trials and tribulations that he’s been facing.
Keyshia has yet to publicly address the charges.We can’t say for sure whether or not the athlete-turned-reality-star is still in police custody, but we will keep you posted as this story develops.
