Ah, the joys of motherhood. To know that you’re responsible for another little life has to be one of the most glorifying experiences (so I’ve been told).

Singer, Alicia Keys surely doesn’t contest to this feeling, as the new mother took to her blog yesterday in a sentimental post about the joys of motherhood. In the post, Keys gushed about her newfound joy of being a mother to her son, Egypt, referring to the experience as ‘beautiful’ and ‘delicious.’  She even admitted to staring at him in awe for hours at a time.

‘I’m most enamored with anatomy at this point. The miracle of the human body. The ability to create all these small amazing machines of veins, capillaries, digestive systems, eyes, ears and noses. I can spend HOURS looking at one little EAR! Have u ever noticed how complex just an ear is? A tiny maze of art. It may sound silly but it’s so true. Or a heartbeat? Everyday we wake up and in some way, take for granted the fact that this beautiful pulsating organ in our body is the reason, and yet now that’s all I can think of…’

But Alicia isn’t the only celebrity who gushes over the joys of being a mother.

Halle Berry has frequently discussed how happy motherhood has made her; and singer Jennifer Hudson is no different. After tragedy swept her family, the singer credits motherhood with helping her cope.

Just because these women are superstars doesn’t mean they don’t experience what most mothers do. Here’s what our celebrity mothers had to say about the joys of motherhood.
