Where Are They Now: The Black Girls from Bad Girls Club (Part 2)
Hey y’all!! Last week we did the seasons 1-4 ladies, now let’s get it on with the season 5-8. Season 9 just ended, so let’s give them some time before we check in on what they’re doing. Enough with the talking about it, let’s be about it with:
SEASON 5: Welcome to Miami
Catya was a self-proclaimed “classy” bad girl, with the phrase: “I’ll either snatch a b–ch for you, or you get snatched by that b–ch.” Known for wearing high class garb, but letting her Philly side jump out whenever she was tested, she left the BGC because it was beneath her.
Well, before the show she was an already established urban model who appeared in print campaigns and music videos. But it was her appearance in the “Best I Ever Had” video that lead to a relationship with Drake. To be fair, the relationship happened before she went on BGC. In fact, it was a contributing factor of their break up (because Drake didn’t want her to make him look bad on TV), the other fact was that he was getting a little too chummy with Malia.
Other than running into those drug peddling charges, she was in other music videos, she released her own single “Best Friend,” released a line of catsuits called Body by Cat. She also is a radio personality and a blogger. By the way, her Body by Cat line is doing a charitable donation by helping hungry families in Philly during December. So, if you’re in that area, check it out here.
Brandi “Venus” Arceneaux
Brandi made Season 5 hilarious for most viewers. She was very upfront with her past as a stripper and how she felt about certain girls. But when her friendship with fellow participant Lea began to unravel, she acted out in anger, which lead to her leaving the house.
When she came back for the reunion she was a lot more calm, and told Perez and the audience that seeing herself act out on television really evoked a change in her. She eluded to the fact that she was no longer a stripper. She did a few vlogs with Lea, and can be found in a few of the other BGC alum pics at their various hangouts, but as of now she has stayed out of the limelight.
Ashley didn’t really get a chance to show the world her full personality because she came in on the last 3 episodes with other bad girl Christina. Soon, the AKA Lamar University graduate and Christina beefed and had a brutal limo fight to end the season, only to come back and fight some more at the reunion.
After the show, when the aforementioned Christina let out a racist tirade (that she claims was fueled by alcohol and an old grudge), using the n-word 12 times in 2 minutes, Ashley was quick to give her thoughts on it and Christina (“being drunk is not an excuse to bring out your inner racism. It’s disgusting and downright offensive … Go get a f**king life. Better yet, do the world a favor and go kill yourself.”)
Ashley just got finish appearing on the VH1 reality show “Mama Drama” along with her mother, and the two has a website, inveverything.com, that includes their own radio show, and more information on the mother-daughter duo.
SEASON 6: Wanna “play with it”? Then you should “rotate,” Bro
Ashley wasn’t an original, but many argued that she should have been. The aptly named “Bombshell” made her way into the house and seemed to stir up feelings of jealousy within the girls, particularly cast mate Kori. Due to the tension between the two, it lead to a brawl that caused both to have black and bruised eyes, and Ashley left the show.
After the show aired, Ashley went further into modeling, appeared in print campaigns, did appearances. She seems to be unlucky with Twitter, because there have been multiple times that her account has been hacked and suspicious tweets have been sent out about her and Dwight Howard. She is currently a Worldstar Candy model, and has a video on there.
Jade seemed like a ball of sunshine… until she got drunk. On the first night she immediately clashed with castmate Nikki, and after 3 days felt the drama wasn’t worth being on the show, so she left. But at the reunion, when Perez started a cake fight, she got into a fight with castmember Kori for getting cake in her hair.
After, Jade went back to modeling and she is currently in school.
SEASON 7: Welcome to New Orleans
Judi Jai Jackson
Judi was a polarizing figure in the house, but a fan favorite once the show aired. Making everyone in New Orleans know that she was Creole, Judi painted the town red with Tiara, Nastasia, and her Voodoo doll before getting into a fight with fellow contestant Priscilla. Priscilla was sent home, and Judi made it to the end.
After the show, Judi did the requisite club promotions and appearances. The Chicago Columbia alum was also featured on the 3rd season of Love Games, where she won the show and contestant Matt’s feelings. She had documented drinking issues on the show, and those demons didn’t seem to be conquered when she was pulled over and arrested for a DUI (and then promptly running away still cuffed). She also had a small yelling match on a plane, proclaiming herself to be the next Natalie Nunn, but after that, she seemed to calm down. She appeared in a music video with I Love New York 2 contestant It (along with Nastasia) and she is taking her Broadcast Journalism degree to good use, and she has a radio show that runs in Chicago, LA and NYC.
The “Boojie” girl with the fly weave, Tiara was a character on the show and definitely a fan favorite. Always up for making people laugh, but never shying away from letting people know what time it was, she was known by her catch phrase: “Keep it cute, or keep it on mute.”
After the show, she did a cameo on the Las Vegas season of BGC, she released a line of lip glosses and lipsticks, and she is the proud mother of a beautiful baby girl. She also has a private party tour that she created.
Nastasia was fun, loud, and entertaining, but she also didn’t play when cast mate Shelley put makeup remover on her contacts and ruined them; delivering a barrage of fists to Shelley’s face the night before they went home.
Nastasia began to pursue her music career, by releasing a series of songs. A few of them were diss tracks against Shelley and Natalie Nunn. She appeared in music videos, did a pilot with I Love New York’s It, and appeared in his music video. With all that, she continues to do appearances and has released a mixtape entitled Priceless.
SEASON 8: Vegas and jumping
Before I get into this, I came across an interview while doing research and I found that the reason why the girls were so amped to jump people that season. It was strategy. If everyone got into a fight then they couldn’t replace the entire cast, because then they wouldn’t have a show, so jumping became their way of protecting themselves. Yeah… just think about that for a minute…
So here’s what we’re gonna do, since this season is still fairly recent, let’s just put all these girls on one slide. Agreed? All right, let’s do this:
Victor Twins, Demitra Roche, Elease Donovan, and Camilla Poindexter
Boil down: Victor Twins participated in jumping Jenna, then all the girls jumped Jenna’s replacement, Elease. Once everyone stopped, the twins continued to jump Elease, but then all the girls turned on them and jumped the twins. Camilla and Christine came as a replacement for the twins, but then all the girls jumped Christine when she tried to leave. The girls attempted to jump Camilla, but she fought them all off, and was sent home, to come back to the reunion and gave Elease a two piece and a kick to the chest.
After the reunion, all the girls still do club appearances. Demitra has a blog dedicated to discussing her passion of music and her life, Elease and Camilla (who had a prior history with reality television) did print campaigns and modeled. Camilla also volunteers at a nonprofit program in Compton to mentor and help children at schools. Elease has her own swimwear line. Danielle and Camilla are participating in this season of Love Games that is currently airing, and all of the girls have expressed a desire to further work in television, or movies.
