Some of the biggest hit songs contain lyrics we wouldn’t repeat to our mothers. Many of our favorite joints can be raunchy and even misogynistic, but sometimes a good beat is, well, a good beat. Take a look at this list of nasty songs that killed it on the charts
Missy Elliot “Work it”
Misdemeanor should have been fined for this dirty anthem. In 2002, Missy Elliot hit number two in the country with the lead single from her fourth album “Under Construction.” The video for the song also was a success: it gave Missy the 2003 MTV Music Award for Best Video.
Not on the bed, lay me on your sofa
Phone before you come, I need to shave my chocha
You do or you don’t or you will or won’t you
Go downtown and eat it like a vulture
David Banner “Play”
Probably David Banner’s most popular song, “Play” can be blamed for girls everywhere twerking in clubs. The song hit number seven and produced an unforgettable music video with sweating girls in colorful outfits that were supposed to resemble work out clothing… But what girl do you know works out in a bikini?
Finger f— your p— like you want some, girl
Work it like a n— straight licking on your pearl
I wanna see you c– in the middle of the dance floor
A n— can’t f—, what you think your finger made for

Lil’ Kim not a Slore
But I sex a n— so good, he gotta tell his boys
When it, come to sex don’t test my skills
Cause my head game have you HEAD over heels
Give a n— the chills, have him pay my bills
Ying Yang Twins “Wait (The Whisper Song)”
Switch the position hurry and get down to business
So you can see what you been missing
Get my a— on bet you aint never had nothin like this
Just wait til you see my d—
Petey Pablo “Freak-a-Leak”
The crunk music breakthrough in the early-mid 2000s brought many raunchy songs in the mainstream. This track, popularized in 2004, caused people to wonder what exactly a freak-a-leak is. Urban dictionary defines the term as “A girl who is willing to do anything to please guy, basically like a hoe.”The song peaked at number 7 on the Billboard charts.
Sniff a lil c—, take a lil x, smoke a lil weed, drink a lil bit
I need a girl I can freak with,
and wanna try s—, and ain’t scared of a big d—
And love to get her p— licked,
by another b—, cuz I ain’t drunk enough ta do dat.
Ludacris feat. Shawna “What’s Your Fantasy”
This debut single by the Disturbing Tha Piece pioneer put Ludacris on the map. Everybody can quote a line or two from this dirty ode to getting it on anywhere possible. Luda describes bumping uglies in a movie theater, in a library, in a boat even in a barn. The single hit number five in the Billboard rap singles charts.
I wanna get you in the back seat windows up
That’s the way you like to f—, clogged up fog alert
Rip the pants and rip the shirt, ruff sex make it hurt
In the garden all in the dirt
S&M Rihanna
In January of 2011, Rihanna released one of the dirtiest songs of her career. This bass heavy thumper was a worldwide success, also giving her a number one hit in the US. People were offended by her provocative lyrics about being whipped, chained and screaming during sex. The video was equally as shocking with Rihanna in futuristic dominatrix wear and a Ronald McDonald hairdo.
‘Cause I may be bad, but I’m perfectly good at it
Sex in the air, I don’t care, I love the smell of it
Sticks and stones may break my bones
But chains and whips excite me
We know this is not a complete list. Which risque songs were hits in your book?
