Introducing Panty-Stuffing: The New Sex Trend Raising Eyebrows

A new form of fetish is growing in popularity and while it sounds uncomfortable some people truly enjoy it. Have you ever heard of panty-stuffing? According to sexologist Becky Crepsley-Fox, who recently spoke to Metro about the kinky practice, panty-stuffing is the act or pleasure of stuffing underwear into the vagina, and often the mouth or anus, too. Typically it’s done with a thong, but regular panties can also do the trick.

Now, you’re probably wondering why someone would find this sexually arousing? 

Becky Crepsley-Fox says it’s all about power, sensation and submission.

Crepsley-Fox told Metro in an interview published Aug. 12, that panty-stuffing can be seen as a form of submission to the person doing the stuffing, which can create the illusion of power for the giver.  

“For the person doing the stuffing, a lot of the charge comes from watching a partner become vulnerable and from the power in directing them to do it,” she explained.  “There’s often an element of the underwear soaking up vaginal fluid and being tasted afterwards, which some people find deeply erotic. If there’s mouth stuffing involved, watching someone be gently gagged can be an added turn-on for the dominant partner.”

If you’re receiving pleasure from this kinky fetish, some people say they enjoy the sensation of being stuffed or that “feeling of fullness,” explained Crepsley-Fox, and on a scientific level it makes sense. Sensory or sensation play can heighten sexual arousal and panty-stuffing can hit all of the five senses: sound, smell, sight, taste, and touch, all of which builds anticipation and heightens erotic pleasure — the accoutrements for a Big O. Many panty-stuffing receivers ( a wild way to put it, I know…) enjoy how the “textured, scratchy, and bumpy” sensation from the fabric of their underwear feels inside of their vagina or anus, explained Crepsley-Fox.

There’s also an element of submission at play with panty-stuffing that many receivers and givers may find particularly arousing. For the giver, the submissive aspect can provide a psychological release from everyday stress by shifting responsibility and creating a safe environment in which to explore power dynamics. Sexual submission can involve letting go of control, allowing individuals to experience heightened focus, trust, and intense physical sensations. Handing over control to a trusted partner can create a unique sense of safety while still allowing both people to remain within clearly established boundaries.

For the receiver, the appeal can come from the opposite side of that dynamic: having the authority to give instructions, establish expectations, and guide the experience. For the giver, meanwhile, it’s the sense of control and dominance that can make this particular practice a go-to. Ultimately, the appeal for both sides can come from the same underlying dynamic: one person willingly gives up control while the other takes on the responsibility of directing the experience.

Be careful, Panty-stuffing has risks.

If you are thinking about diving into panty-stuffing, there are a few risks you should be aware of, says Crepsley-Fox. Whenever a foreign object is inserted into the vagina, the risk of infection increases. It’s imperative that you use clean and freshly washed underwear while doing this with your partner. You should use “100% cotton panties, nothing with lace, polyester or anything with a lot of synthetic stretch in it,” she stressed to Metro.

Here’s another important tip: never move the panties from the anus to the vagina. It can introduce harmful bacteria into the area. 

“Freshly washed cotton is one thing; pants that have been worn all day, or have been anywhere near the anus, are quite another,” Crepsley-Fox added. “Dirty pants carry bacteria straight into a warm, moist environment that is also very happy to grow it.”

What do women online think of panty-stuffing? 

Users on the “Ask Women” and “Panty-Stuffing Advice” Reddit threads have shared mixed reviews about the kinky practice, with one user writing that her experience was uncomfortable. 

“I’ve done this as a request before. It’s as miserable as you would imagine. Dry things trying to enter the vagina are going to have a bad time.”

Another user griped:

“Okay I saw this somewhere a couple months ago so I tried it. Mostly cause couldn’t believe that it would fit. Turns out it does fit but is not sexy in any way. It’s just being full and then truly dried out afterwards… Not nice.”

However, a few community members said they enjoyed trying out the kinky trend in the bedroom. One Reddit community member said she loved her experience. 

“I actually really love it. My boyfriend and I tried it for the first time two nights ago and it felt incredible. It gave a new sensation that was just really nice. I don’t quite know how to describe it, but I came very quickly and we will be adding it to our list of things to do more often.”

One user offered some great tips for first-timers: 

“Treat it like a tampon, remember leaving it in for long runs the risk of toxic shock syndrome. Use breathable material too like cotton, and if you’re sensitive to UTIs, thrush, or laundry soap, you’d want to make sure it’s clean before using,” they shared.
