Instead of mashed potatoes this year, try this creamy, comforting South African dish. Its main ingredients include thinly-sliced potatoes, some cream and some cheese. Adding onion soup for a burst of flavor is popular, and from there it’s fun to dress it up with special flavors you like from bacon to mushrooms to a South African dried meat called biltong.
