In addition to being compelling female characters, they were all imagined by Felicia D. Henderson, who has written for and produced, often at the executive level, all of the shows above. Henderson, a California native with roots in Mississippi, has an endowed screenwriting scholarship in her name at UCLA, where she is earning her PhD in Cinema and Media Studies.
