While Cece Gutierrez may be hard-pressed to find more than a couple of allies on Basketball Wives, the reality star isn’t shedding any tears about it. Instead, she’s spending her time rubbing elbows with Magic and Cookie Johnson, among a bevvy of other huge stars.
Cece and fiancé Byron Scott joined in the fun that was Magic Johnson and Cookie’s joint 60th birthday soiree in St. Tropez, France. They boarded the super yacht Aquila to celebrate the basketball legend, whom Byron used to play alongside during the “Showtime” era. They were joined by famous faces and Magic’s other friends, including Tina Knowles-Lawson and husband Richard Lawson, Chris Tucker, Gayle King, Samuel Jackson, and Magic’s son EJ, whom Byron and Cece all took photos with. They were also in the company of Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez, as well as Bill Bellamy, Salli Richardson and husband Dondre Whitfield, Isaiah Thomas, Angela Bassett, Spike Lee and more.
Cece, clearly happy to be living her best life in the South of France, was many miles away from the drama of the women she works with on Basketball Wives. Perhaps this Labor Day holiday weekend spent with this illustrious group of people will further solidify for Cece why she needs to move on from the VH1 series. Last month she told a fan that she was “Done” with the show after the episode where she was confronted about mean things she said about co-star and friend O.G. way before they knew each other.
It looks like Cece will live a carefree and celebrity-filled existence if she does indeed give the show the boot after Season 8. It also would probably please Byron if she left his daughter-in-law Kristen Scott and that circle in the dust…
