Earlier this year, we reported that former NBA player, Kevin Garnett wanted to avoid paying spousal and child support to his estranged wife of 14 years, Brandi Padilla.

Garnett earned $300 million during his tenure as a basketball player. Still, he felt that he shouldn’t have to dish anything out. He also petitioned the court for joint custody of the two children the former couple have together. The two are still in litigation, trying to determine what will happen. But in the meantime, Garnett will have to cut the check.

According to The Blast, Garnett was ordered to pay Padilla $100,000 a month in child and spousal support. This number is temporary until they can reach a permanent deal.

Padilla was requesting $46,000 a month in child support. She argued that she would have the children in her custody 95 percent of the time. She also wanted $146,000 in spousal support. She was also seeking $300,000 in legal fees.

The legal fee request was granted. Thus far, Garnett has put $75,00 toward Padilla’s legal bills. This is a good sign for Brandi.
