Today, May 15, Tamera Mowry-Housley and husband Adam are celebrating eight years of marriage. Based on her tribute to the man she calls “My life” and “My rock,” Tam is just as shocked as the rest of us about how quickly time has passed in their union. Though they’ve been officially husband and wife for eight years, they’ve been in each other’s lives for more than 14.
“Wow! 8 years. I’m grateful for the life we have created together, and the two beautiful children we’ve been blessed with,” she wrote on Instagram. “This year was the most challenging we’ve gone through. But you, you have been a rock for me and all of us. Love you babe. Now and forever.”
As for Adam, he was honest about the fact that it’s taken some serious work for them to get to this point, and he’s grateful that he’s doing this love thing with her.
“Nothing is perfect. Even though we see nothing but perfection on social media, the reality is….we are all real,” he wrote. “We’ve had ups and downs and thanks to God it has been an amazing ride of almost all ups. We’ve enjoyed triumphs and heartbreak. Hard to believe it’s been 8 years married and 14 1/2 together all told. Through it all, there is nobody I’d rather have by my side and as my partner in crime. Tamera I relive that day every day over and over again, because through it all, it just keeps getting better and it was the best damn decision in my life. I love you. I love our kids. I love our combined families. I love our future together. We got this. Happy anniversary.”
While their relationship has been through a lot, including the tragic murder of Housley’s niece and criticism from the public about their interracial relationship (and questions about whether or not he is truly an ally out here), they’ve managed to withstand all that and flourish together.
