Over the weekend, Beyoncé and Jay-Z enjoyed date night, watching her hometown Houston Rockets lose in the Western Conference semifinals to the Golden State Warriors. Her home team ended the night with a loss, but the singer was a winner in a crescent moon top (with gloves), matching bottoms by French designer Marine Serre, and a new brunette hairstyle.

Of course, the 37-year-old is known for her signature long blonde locks, but she decided to switch it up on us with something dark and luxurious (with a few light brown highlights). Her longtime colorist, Rita Hazan, told Refinery29 in 2016 that despite the popular opinion that she never strays away from the same color and look, Beyoncé plays with hair color all of the time.

“We change it up frequently,” she said. “She’ll be lighter before I see her and then the next three weeks we’ll change it again. It depends on what she’s doing and what she’s wearing. Whatever look she’s going for, she goes to execute it fully — casual or formal.”
However, this isn’t the first time that the star has sported something different. Over a career that has spanned more than 20 years, she’s done a few different looks; and while it’s nothing ever-changing and super dramatic, for Queen Bey it’s a refreshing change to see when she does decide to try something out of the ordinary. Hit the flip to see the beauty in everything from bobs and short cuts, to dark curls and her natural hair:
