One of Wendy Williams’ old friends from college has been worried about her health and feels that her husband, Kevin Hunter, is to blame for her latest struggles.

Paul Porter, who attended Northeastern University with Williams, said he watches The Wendy Williams Show scared because of the stress that he feels her marriage is causing her. On one episode from last week, Williams had a brief coughing spell, which concerned Porter.

“I thought she was going to pass out,” Porter told Page Six. “I’m worried about her health. Somebody needs to do something.”

Porter described Hunter as a “control freak” and “a terror.” He said that Williams thought of divorcing Hunter last year after hearing about his alleged pregnant mistress.

“They went to counseling. For some reason she can’t break away.”

Williams revealed last week that she has been living in a sober house and going to meetings to address her struggles with addictions. She didn’t specify any details or confirm that she had a relapse. Apparently, Porter feels like this became an issue again due to her marriage.  An anonymous source also told Page Six that Hunter forced Williams into staying in the sober house.

“No one thinks it’s the right place for Wendy. She seems so frail and vulnerable,” the source told Page Six. “It’s frightening just how completely under Kevin’s control Wendy is … But she won’t hear a word against him. Those close to her are terrified something awful is going to happen. She comes to the set looking terrible.”

Hunter, who has been married to Williams since 1997, recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight and tried to shut down rumors about their marriage being in trouble.

“Wendy is doing well,” he said. “We’re doing well as a family. We are moving forward with working on her sobriety and doing the work to help others, not just ourselves. It is a family process. Anybody that has to deal with this knows this is a family process … and we are dealing with it and moving forward.”

Charlamagne tha God, who once worked with Williams when she was in radio in New York City, said he introduced Hunter to his alleged mistress, Sharina Hudson, a decade ago for business purposes. A picture of Hunter and Hudson has been floating around the internet where they seemed to be vacationing on an island.

When Williams returned to The Wendy Williams Show after a two-month hiatus, she said she was still madly in love with her husband and has no plans of leaving him despite rumors of their marital turmoil.
