La La Anthony has been dabbling in the lane as a fashion designer for a couple years now. From partnering with her stylist, Jason Bolden for a line called 5th and Mercer to working with Lord And Taylor for a collection in 2017. However, she’s seemed to have found a home with Ashley Stewart. In an interview with Hello Beautiful, the beauty admitted to being hands-on in the creation of this collection, “from concept to execution.” The beauty launched a line with the brand in December of 2018 but recently extended the collection to include more ensembles, creating a 22-piece collection.
The pieces all have an athletic base with sexy detailing, playing deep into the athleisure trend. The mesh and see-through inserts keep the line alluring while La La stays true to her design roots with distressed denim. If you are skeptical about La La Anthony designing a collection for plus-size women, don’t be. Her line with Lord And Taylor went up to a size 24. You can see LaLa’s style as she remains consistent in her offerings of denim, athleisure, and bomber jackets. However, we wanted to preview the collection and see how it looked on everyday women. It’s one thing to advocate for the plus size community and another thing to be able to design for it. We rounded up the Madame Noire and #TeamBeautiful crew to model the designs on plus size bodies ranging from 12 to 20.
