Fulton Commissioner Calls for Performance Review
(AJC) — With tough decisions ahead as property tax revenues decline, Fulton County Commissioner Emma Darnell called for an independent performance review of the county’s most expensive operations, saying information the board gets internally is unreliable. The full commission didn’t act on her proposal, though, after County Manager Zachary Williams told them Wednesday that the tentative 2011 budget has about $250,000 allocated for an analysis of the sheriff’s office, which will be the largest expenditure at $97.3 million. Grady Memorial Hospital is slated for $48 million and the library system for $31.5 million.
