(AJC) — The Internal Revenue Service announced Wednesday it owes more than $7 million to 4,714 Georgia taxpayers because it lacks a correct address to mail the check.  An IRS spokesman said the average undeliverable refund in Georgia is $1,522 and will be delivered after the taxpayer updates his or her address with the IRS. Some taxpayers are owed checks from previous years. Taxpayers can generally update their addresses with the “Where’s My Refund?” tool on IRS.gov. Taxpayers can update by telephone at 1-800-829-1954.
