(Washington Post) — Local banks are reporting a resurgence in the popularity of workplace banking programs, as companies look for low-cost measures to beef up benefits in a constrained economic environment. These programs typically offer employees free or discounted financial services, while providing banks a source of new customers.  Amol Gupte, head of treasury and trade solutions for Citibank’s global transaction services business in North America, said the bank’s Citi at Work program “has gotten a different level of attention and traction lately.”
