Late Wednesday night, Cardi B shared a black and white image of herself and husband Offset, hugging while taking a selfie together, dressed in all white with the caption being the date of September 20. The picture would quickly be removed from her page, but not before her fan pages caught it. The picture was, it seems, meant to let people know that it was from her wedding day, and that the couple had made it to their first wedding anniversary.
The pair spent most of 2018 giving the impression that they were just engaged and were planning their wedding, but Cardi eventually admitted that they married last year on the low. They tied the knot at home, in their bedroom of all places, in a very small and spontaneous ceremony. So when he proposed in front of everyone last October at the Power 99 Powerhouse concert in Philly and gave her that massive ring, they were already married.
“Our relationship was so new breaking up and making up and we had a lot of growing up to do but we was so in love we didn’t want to lose each other, was one morning in September we woke up and decided to get married,” she wrote on Twitter. “We found someone to marry us, and she did, just the two of us and my cousin. I said I do, with no dress no make up and no ring! I appreciate and love my husband so much for still wanting for me have that special moment that every girl dreams of when he got down on his knee and put a ring on my finger and he did that for me!!”
It’s officially been a year, per their marriage license, and they are already parents to their daughter, Kulture. It’s been quite the year for Mr. and Mrs. Cephus, both in terms of their skyrocketing careers, but also when it comes to their love. Check out photos from their first year of marriage.
