After Missing Basketball Wives Reunion, Jennifer Williams Praises Kristen, Criticizes Tami And Slams Shaunie On Breakfast Club
Jennifer Williams may have been MIA at the Basketball Wives reunion that aired on Sunday night, but she had every intention to tell her story. The reality star visited The Breakfast Club on Monday (the conversation was released on Tuesday though) to speak about all of the drama that went down during Season 7. She did so because she wanted to tell her “true story” in the hopes that it wouldn’t be edited as she felt it had been on the show. She also made it clear that she missed out on the reunion because after her encounter with Malaysia Pargo, Jennifer had had enough.
“I was not there because you know what? I just felt like this entire season, I was completely set up,” she said. “And after having a table being thrown at me, I just didn’t think I needed to be there. I felt like I needed to make a statement.”
But the viewers wanted an actual statement and for the 44-year-old to explain herself, particularly her part in some ugly gossip.
Speaking on that whole rumor that Evelyn Lozada slept with Shaunie O’Neal’s ex-husband, Shaq, Williams still contends that she never started that story. She heard it, just as Tami Roman had, and they discussed it together. She was initially OK with using that information to Evelyn down because there were rumors that she was saying ugly things about Jennifer, too. But when the mischievous plan didn’t go as everyone though it would, and Jennifer and Evelyn worked things out (which happened during Season 6), agreeing to let let go of the ugly things they said about each other, Jenn says that Tami wasn’t pleased.
“Tami was revealing to me a lot of things that Evelyn was allegedly doing,” she said. “I feel like Tami felt a way because I let the whole sh-t with Evelyn go, and I think she was upset about that because that was not the plan.”
So Tami told Shaunie there was a rumor about her that she needed to be aware of, and everything spiraled after that with Jennifer taking full blame.
“I felt like on the show they acted like I started this rumor. And I’m like, no. I heard this years ago,” she said. “So when Tami circled back and was telling me all of these things, that’s how the whole conversation came out. We talked about that a whole year ago, and Tami decides to bring the sh-t back up during the season.”
“There was no facts, no receipts, so we let it go, and Tami decided to bring it up,” she continued. “But you know what? I had a scene with Tami at the beginning of the season, and she made a comment, which didn’t play, and now that I look back on it, I see where she was going with it. Because she was like, ‘I saw you went to Evelyn’s birthday party.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, you know, I did.’ She was like, ‘Oh, did you guys talk about all of the things you said about each other?’ And I was like, ‘No, we just decided to let it go.’ So I feel like she had something brewing now that I think back on it.”
As for further hurtful rumors Jennifer is accused of pushing, she also still maintains that she never said anything ugly about Evelyn’s daughter, Shaniece. She calls Shaunie a master manipulator for claiming she did.
“Shaunie was trying to say, ‘Jennifer said this five years ago’ when we weren’t speaking. First of all, I would never say that,” Jennifer said. “She starts a lot of bullshit behind the scenes. If I allegedly said this five years ago and this is your girl, why are you 1. Just now bringing it up. 2. Why were you advocating for us to sit down and have a conversation last season, but now this season it’s something totally different?”
Jennifer believes that Shaunie allowed her to be the bad guy because it would help the show do well, even telling the radio hosts that Shaunie was “determined to bring me down” after that Shaq and Evelyn rumor came out.
“I know the ratings have been through the roof this season, which is an extra check for Shaunie O’Neal,” she said. “Shaunie starts a lot of things behind the scenes.”
So it annoys Jennifer to no end that Shaunie allegedly remembers what she wants to, which she was accused of doing during the reunion. Shaunie said on Sunday night’s show that she didn’t remember whether or not Tami told her and Evelyn that she could no longer have kids, but could remember when Jennifer allegedly said word-for-word.
“It’s really interesting that Shaunie has selective memory because she couldn’t seem to remember if Tami said those things,” she said. “There’s certain conversations you’re going to remember specific things.”
She also poured some hot tea, saying that the rumor about CeCe Gutierrez during the season came from Shaunie.
“The whole rumor about CeCe and her picking up young guys at the gym, just for clarification, because I don’t know if they try to make it seem like I started this rumor, I did make a joke like, ‘Well, what was she doing at the spa? They giving happy endings?’ But that entire scenario and rumor started because both Evelyn and I heard that from Shaunie. But because she’s an executive producer, her hands are always going to come out clean.”
As far as if she sees a future in terms of her future friendship with Evelyn, Jennifer is hopeful.
“Here’s the thing. I don’t want drama with anybody,” she said. “I feel like this show has ripped our friendship apart more than once. I don’t know if it could ever get back to where it was. But my hope is, one day we can definitely be cordial because this is absolute nonsense.”
“I think we both really love each other and there’s a lot of stuff that has transpired and maybe one day we could move forward,” she added. “I thought that was what we were working towards. But I really feel like the girls on the show are very jealous of our friendship.”
And while she has been boxed out by most of the cast, Jennifer is still in contact with one cast member: Kristen Scott.
“I don’t have a problem with Kristen. I’ve text her, she’s text me since,” she said. “I think Kristen is a really cool girl and I felt like she was a good fit for Basketball Wives. But yeah, I don’t have any issues with her and we’re still very cool.”
Looking back on the season, Jennifer doesn’t have regrets, but she is ready to be done with the pettiness.
“I wish I wouldn’t have had certain conversations with Tami because she definitely had bad intentions,” she said. “But I don’t want to do the would of, should of, could of. I just really want to move on. Everything is so petty and dumb. And I just feel like I’ve been through so much in my life, the past three years, that I can’t really focus on that.”
“Every season I feel like somebody has to take the fall. It’s like they gang up on somebody every season. It was my turn!” she added. “I honestly would like to move forward with my life. I’m still under contract so I don’t know what’s going to happen. I do know that allegedly the production company got fired, so I don’t know what’s going to happen with the show, but I just want to move forward.”
