Naomi Campbell donned a new look during Calvin Klein’s runway show for NYFW. The 48-year-old model switched up her mid-length hairdo for a short, curly fro pinned up into a mohawk. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen Campbell in a style that didn’t look good on her, including this one. It’s great to see her versatility when it comes to her choices in wigs.

The timeless beauty is known for her signature center-part and waist-length tresses. Occasionally, she’ll switch it up to blunt bangs or a soft wave. As an international supermodel, her hairstyles are constantly changing to match whatever designer she is working with at the time.

The continuous manipulation on Campbell’s hair has caused damage to her edges over the years. For now, wigs and weaves serve as a go-to for styling and protection of her natural hair. With the best stylist and wig makers at her disposal, she will never be lacking when it comes to having the perfect hairdo.

Although this isn’t the first time Campbell strayed from her normal style to try something different, it is completely refreshing to watch her experiment with natural hair textures. A few days ago, supermodel Tyra Banks showed off her natural hair for the gram. This type of representation matters. During a time where women of color are fully embracing our natural curls, it is great to see a reinforcement of the beauty in our hair, even if it is a wig.
