So with that all in mind, finding the right gift can be a daunting prospect. Fun Glassware

Tried and true, but always something that’s much appreciated, getting the happy couple some incredible glassware is a great gift to celebrate their engagement. Whether you decide to get them his and hers high balls (we love the above from Kate Spade for just $50) or something a little bigger like a crystal decanter, glassware is a great gift idea. Plus, even if glassware is something that will ultimately land on the couple’s wedding registry, it’s one of those things you really can’t have to many of. And the price points can range from very affordable to a little more expensive, so it’s the perfect size fits all gift.

Bottle of Wine/Champagne

In a similar vein to glassware, a bottle of wine is certainly a welcomed gift for the newly engaged. Whether you decide to spring a great bottle of Veuve Clicquot or opt to get the happy couple a personalized bottle, like those at Etched Wine, this is a great gift option. Not only is it a fairly simple to think of and coordinate, but as someone who still has some of her engagement and wedding presents in storage, it’s nice to be given a gift that can be put to use quickly and won’t take up very much room.

Spa Session

In the spirit of gifts that won’t take up valuable apartment or house space, but will still bring a ton of joy to your friends, might we suggest gifting a spa experience. OK, so we know what you’re thinking, the last thing you like giving friends is a gift card. It can sometimes feel lazy and impersonal, that you couldn’t think of anything else to buy so you gave up and went with a gift card. But trust us when we say that a spa session would be a welcomed and very unexpected gift to give your newly engaged friends. They are about to embark on one of the craziest and most stressful times of their life, so giving them a chance to relax and kick back is thoughtful and something they’ll truly enjoy.

Custom Dessert

A great engagement party gift, a custom dessert is a yummy and fun way to celebrate the happy couple. While most people are looking to slim down in the months leading up to their big day, a few sweet treats before crunch time starts won’t hurt anyone. We love Shari’s Berries wedding-themed strawberries.

Beautiful Flower Display

This one might seem like an unusual gift, but trust us, your friends will love a stunning flower display like the one created by Olive and Cocoa. Our suggestion if flowers are the path you want to go down: Wait until a day or two after the couple’s engagement party to send along your congratulations. With so much preparation that goes into having an engagement party and the craziness day of, it’s nice to give your friends one less thing to have to manage/receive/deal with and send a gift later as an unexpected, but happy surprise.

Picture Frame

One of the most traditional options on our list, a beautiful picture frame is a well-appointed gift for a newly engaged couple. With as many new photos in the mix from engagement shoots to pictures from the engagement party itself, your friends will definitely be looking for a classic, chic way to show them off. So with that in mind, we’d suggest grabbing the brushed silver wall frames from your local Crate and Barrel.

A Lush Throw

There are few things we love more than a comfy throw. Whether you’re keeping warm during the chilly winter months or looking to cuddle up as the air conditioning blasts during the summer, a throw is everyone’s favorite living room accessory. So why not share that awesomeness with a couple who is newly engaged and probably loves nothing more than to boo up on the couch with one another. There are plenty of places to shop for great throws but we absolutely adore Arhaus and its faux chinchilla fur throw.

Meal Service Subscription

Another somewhat unconventional gift, but one that will truly be appreciated is a meal service subscription. It won’t be long before the newly engaged couple is faced with long evenings of visiting venues, meeting wedding vendors and putting together guest gifts. During these long nights, the last thing they’ll want to do is head to the grocery store to pick up dinner. So why not bring dinner to them with a meal subscription service like Blue Apron.

Monogrammed Travel Gear

One of our absolute favorite gift options is buying virtually anything trip/travel related. But specifically we love the idea of giving the happy couple matching monogrammed passport cases like those from Cuyana. Especially if they are planning on heading abroad for their honeymoon these sorts of gifts will keep them organized and fashionable.

Custom Illustration

And last but certainly not least, if you want to buy a gift your friends will truly remember, we love the idea of commissioning a custom illustration for them. Etsy is filled with super talented artists who can create amazing sketches, paintings and even needle points of the couples’ likeness.
