A judge has increased the amount of money Jesse Williams will pay his estranged wife Aryn Drake-Lee.
When Drake-Lee requested more child support from the “Grey’s Anatomy” actor, he asked that the request be denied. At the time, he was paying $50k a month and believed any more would be excessive. In documents, he stated that she “exaggerates many of our expenses and the children’s needs, while also lumping her personal expenses as expenses for the children.”
Williams stated “We agreed that our children should live a simple life without wasting money on extravaganza.” Williams said their life together, before the divorce, included Ikea furniture, home-cooked meals and low cost family gatherings. Also, Williams stated that he would pay for his children’s entire school tuition. Williams stated that Dreke-Lee’s requests for more money were her attempts to continue to punish him for having a career and working hard to provide for their family.
But according to TMZ, a judge didn’t agree and increased the amount of spousal support. He’s now been ordered to pay $100k per month in both support for his two children, 4-year-old Sadie Williams and 2-year-old Maceo Williams, and spousal support for Aryn Drake-Lee.
His spousal support was increased to $50k from $33k.
So $50k for the children and $50k for Drake-Lee.
According to court documents, Williams brings in $521,000 a month, so the new settlement represents 1/5 of his income.
The order is temporary until the couple reaches a final settlement or the court imposes a final order.
