Birthdays and holidays pose their own unique challenges in the gift-giving department. But anniversaries, well, that’s a whole new level of exhausting. Not only is it difficult to think of fun, useful gifts if you’ve been with your partner for quite sometime, if you’re looking to stick to anniversary gift tradition (year one paper,  year two cotton, etc.), it can be incredibly tricky to find the right present. In an effort to help make this year’s anniversary gift hunt a little less daunting, we’ve compiled the ultimate gift guide for the first 10 years of wedding anniversaries. Get the answers to your burning gift quandaries after the jump.

💙 To My Love 💙

Paper: The Love Book

Your first wedding anniversary should definitely be celebrated with something special. And while paper seems to naturally lend itself to tickets to an exotic destination or a great concert or show, we have something a little different in mind. Why not celebrate your love story with The Love Book. The service allows you to custom design a book of cartoons telling your love story, the things you adore about your partner and the memorable times you’ve shared together. It’s a hyper-personalized gift that we know will melt his heart.

Cotton: A Custom Tailored Shirt

A great gift idea for any hubby, the custom tailored shirt is a unique anniversary gift idea that also smartly checks off the cotton box if you’re sticking to tradition. Sure plenty of guys will just swing by their local department to pick up collared shirts, but why not elevate this wardrobe staple with a shirt fitted exactly to his body measurements. A thoughtful, practical gift that we know will strike the right note.

Leather: A Beautiful Weekender

If your guy already has a leather jacket in his closet, then maybe consider another route to celebrate your third anniversary. One idea that we love is buying your beau a beautiful leather weekender. Not only is this a great piece that he probably wouldn’t buy himself, but it can also pair well with a larger, flashier gift. Consider tucking tickets into the bag for a great vacation destination or planning a weekend getaway that will allow your hubby to use his new bag.

Fruits/Flowers: A Winery Visit

Year Four doesn’t get any easier with the traditional gift being fruits or flowers. Not exactly the most masculine of gift themes, but don’t worry we’ve got an idea. Why not consider planning a trip to a local vineyard or buying an amazing bottle of wine for your significant other. Certainly a gift that leans more toward the fruit side, than the flower one, but we think this is a great idea that feels special and romantic.

Wood: Whiskey Barrel

Wood can be a fun theme to tackle for a wedding anniversary gift. There are a variety of customizable gift ideas that could work well, from cutting boards to commemorative wood plaques. But one gift that we really love is getting a customized wine or whisky barrel. Etched with your love’s name or initials, this gift is not only unique and unexpected, but also one he’ll get great use out of. Consider starting him off with a bottle of a spirit that could benefit from oak barrel aging and let the magic begin. It’s a gift both of you will be able to enjoy.

Iron: Stainless Steel Watch

At first glance, you might be asking yourself what on earth can I get as an iron gift. But let’s reposition this a little. What are your thoughts if we say stainless steel? A little less frightening, now isn’t it? Given that stainless steel is largely comprised of iron, we don’t think this is a cop out at all. Instead, it opens your gift-giving up to a world or possibilities. And one of those possibilities we love is a stainless steel watch. Available at a number of price points and a variety of styles, a watch is a classic and timeless (pun intended) gift that feels appropriate for a seventh anniversary.

Copper: Artwork

Now we’re not going to lie, copper was a tricky one. Aside from the obvious dinner and drinkware we were a little stumped what could make a unique gift. But after some thought, we kept coming back to artwork. Yes, artwork. Even if your beau doesn’t hit the museums every weekend or even if he doesn’t currently own a piece of art, why not find a piece that feels right for him. Something that reminds you of him or something speaking to a theme you know he loves. Either way, copper feels like a unique, eye-catching material for an art piece that will stand out in your home and constantly remind him of how much you love him.

Bronze: Cufflinks

There are a number of different directions you can go in for a bronze gift, but the one that we love is going the cufflink route. Every man should have at least one pair of cufflinks in his accessory arsenal, so why not bestow them on him for an anniversary? Sophisticated and classic, cufflinks add a little something extra to formal attire and also can serve as a great way to tie together your anniversary gift and perhaps a special evening out so he can show them off.

Willow

Seriously, who thought willow was a good idea? This is another anniversary that seems daunting from a gift-giving perspective. However, one unique idea could be taking your loved one out for a beautiful picnic, either near your home or in a more exotic destination. The wicker basket checks off the traditional gift box, but what you surround the activity with (a beautiful location, delicious food, etc.) can really help to show off your personality and create an experience your hubby will love and remember.

Tin or Aluminum

For your 10th wedding anniversary, it’s time to go big and go bold. So for this milestone, we would recommend not strictly adhering to tin or aluminum. After so many years together, this is the time to go with your heart and buy exactly what you think will make your partner happiest. Of course you can cleverly wrap the gift in aluminum, but don’t let the traditional gift suggestion tether you to an idea that you’re not completely sold on. Get him what you think he wants most to celebrate such a huge occasion.
