Taraji P. Henson Explains Why She Went Public With Her Relationship With Kelvin Hayden
As we reported earlier, Taraji P. Henson gave us the details on the buffed up man we’ve been seeing in some pictures online. Not that we didn’t already know. There were pictures that leaked. That’s her man, former football player Kelvin Hayden.
For those who missed it, she said this about Hayden:
“It was all over The Shaderoom anyway,” she continued. “You know, I’m not the type to blast my personal business, but you know, I think that it’s important for people to know that I’m happy. I’m very very happy. I just am. We’ve been together for two years. And no one would really know that because I don’t blast my info like that but I’m very happy.”
But you may be wondering what influenced her decision to finally come forward and share. During her interview with Extra’s AJ Calloway, Taraji said that while it’s been her practice to never talk about her personal life, she felt comfortable doing so because of the nature of the relationship.
“It’s very serious. I did, I confirmed it. It’s fine. They asked me if I was happy and I said yes and they just ran with it.”
Y’all know how it is. When you’re in love and you feel secure with it, once you start talking, the floodgates are opened. As we reported earlier, Hayden bought Henson a puppy for Christmas. She spoke about life with the new dog and gave us a little sneak peek into life with her man, Hayden as well. When Kelly Ripa asked Taraji what she got for Christmas, she said that her boyfriend got her a puppy. And he’s already bringing some comedy into their lives together.
Ryan Seacrest: They say they do have a lot of gas, those dogs specifically.
Taraji: Yes! They do. And they snore and they snort. So my boyfriend came home one day and K. Ball was by the bed sleep and he was like, ‘Babe, I thought that was you.’ [Taraji said to Kelvin] ‘And when he passed gas, I thought that was you!’
Kelly: You know what’s great though. You can now pass gas and blame it on the dog.
Taraji: And he asks me all the time, ‘Babe, was that you or K. Ball?’ And I’m like, ‘K. Ball!’
We’re wishing Taraji and Kelvin all the best
